Below is a chart showing the 64 different codons that are possible, given that a codon is three bases long. The amino acid corresponding to each codon is also shown, with each of the 20 amino acids having its own color. Three of the codons (shown in bold) do not code for any amino acid, but instead signal the end of a protein.
